When I first received my OWB holster made custom for my FN 509 Tactical with Valkyrie PL Mini 2 light and RDS I was impressed by the details I saw molded into the Kydex. It appeared every tiny detail of the weapon and light had been worked into the mold. The Hexcam Specter13 Kydex pattern looked awesome. However, upon attempting to slide my 509 into the holster I was surprised at how tight the fit was and how much force was needed to fully seat it in the holster. It was so difficult to fully holster it I intensely scrutinized how it was seated in the holster thinking the light must not be in the same position as was molded into it however it just so happened that the position of the light on the rail matched the mold absolutely perfectly. So then I attempted to draw the 509 out of the holster and it was incredibly difficult. My surprise turned to shock once I finally was able to withdraw it from the holster and inspected the slide. THE FINISH OF MY BRAND NEW FN 509 TACTICAL WAS COMPLETELY REMOVED FEOM SEVERAL PARTS OF BOTH SIDES OF THE SLIDE AND THE TOP CORNERS OF THE SLIDE, AFTER ONLY BEING HOLSTERED AND TAKEN OUT OF THE HOLSTER ONCE!!! While it’s a tool and I expected wear over time I didn’t expect my brand new tool that’s never been used or holstered to immediately look like an LE trade-in! I don’t have much experience with Kydex holsters but in my research I had found that when molded properly the tension should be put on trigger guard thus not wearing the slide much if at all over time. I’m just that is not at all what I have in my new ANR holster and am incredibly disappointed. Extremely unhappy with the fit and the immediate wear to my finish that this holster has caused.
