.76 caliber, 42″ barrel secured by heavy brass bands with the front reinforced to the second. The lock bears what appears to be the Maastricht arsenal stamp. The brass buttplate is regimentally marked “3B7 B BNo7”. In fine, untouched original condition showing some pitting along the barrel that is covered with a pleasing patina. Very fine wood with two tiered carved paddles at the wrist with the brass escutcheon. These scarce muskets have considerable historical importance to the American Revolution. Ben Franklin while traveling to Holland purchased a quantity of these muskets for the Continental Army. Previously in the Warren Moore Collection.
